Split Groups adds a new Bases view where a note shows up under every value of a list property. A recipe with category: [main, side] appears under main and again under side, instead of in one “main side” group.

How to use it

  1. In Settings, open Community plugins, search for Split Groups and install it.
  2. In your Base, add a new view and pick Split groups.
  3. In the view options, set Split by to your list property.

It runs on your device only with no network calls and never changes your notes and it works on desktop and mobile.

Split Groups 0.2.0

What’s new:

  • Groups inside groups - Set “Then split by” to a second list property and every group splits again inside, for example Category then Diet. The + on a sub-group fills in both values
  • Folded groups now stay folded when your notes change, and each view remembers them
  • Collapse all and Expand all buttons
  • Sort groups by size: Most notes first or Fewest notes first, as well as A to Z and Z to A.

Split Groups 0.3.1 is out.

What’s new:

  • New notes from a template. Pick a note under “Template for +” in the view options, and the + on a group heading makes the new note from it, with that group’s value already filled in. {{title}}, {{date}} and {{time}} work, and Templater templates go through Templater if you have it installed.
  • Each view has its own template.
  • Middle click on a note name now opens it in a new tab.

Update it from Community plugins in Settings. Ideas and problems are welcome here or on GitHub.

The New button now uses your template too, like the + does.
