The taskpaper format belongs to https://www.taskpaper.com/ , but it is plain text. I use it for task lists, etc. It is in the same library as my notes and has a relationship with some notes. I hope to support it.

This could be done as a plugin taskpaper style

For remainders maybe cyclical export/update to one of task managing apps (like todoist) which could an additional idea ( I don’t need this that much, I need more a place to write all the task from my head )

Add my vote for a TaskPaper plugin - I already store my taskpaper tasks inside my Obsidian vault, and run some scripts to collect tasks from anywhere in the vault and add them to the todo file.

It would be wonderful to have basic TaskPaper formatting and functions right in Obsidian

Combining with TaskPaper is a great workflow. I currently use Sublime Text 3 to run it temporarily because obsidian does not support this format and the commonly used txt format.

I’m using Editorial on iOS (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/editorial/id673907758) as my mobile client for Obsidian (there are some workflows linked on this forum to create/follow links etc. here: https://tekacs.github.io/editorial-obsidian/) so although Taskpaper support sounds good it would not wholly solve this for me… the file ending for Taskpaper files in Editorial is .taskpaper so it would require some work by the App Developer to allow .md files to display/have Taskpaper functionality too… Please do consider this for the official Obsidian client.

BTW, I really like Roam’s TODO and DONE filters - could we please at least have something simple like this that is shown in the interface that would make finding tasks easier than searching for “- [ ]” !

[Re: DONE: I did notice an oddity in Roam though where completed to-do’s are shown against the due date whereas they really should show on the completed date…]

Another vote for taskpaper support!
Taskpaper’s ability to style text blocks using #tags (actually @tags in TP) would also be a wonderful upgrade. TP allows a great deal of flexibility for this in its .less theme files; could we do the same in .css?

Taskpaper could read files in md format, so one way this to implement could be a to implement syntax.

Really want that feature and with task paper I’ll be able to export. Y omnifocus app easily. Futur proof with other app like noteplan.

+1 for Taskpaper support! Especially if tasks could then be collected and summarised from anywhere in the vault in some kind of todo pane, with backlinks to the respective documents where they are noted.

TaskPaper format is supported by quite a few apps and text editors also on Windows and Linux.

+1 . I’ve been testing out Obsidian for creating task lists and such and my main gripe is working with those lists on iOS is cumbersome. Would be great to support the taskpaper file format and going from there.

You can install this plugin and edit the main.js file to add other plaintext extensions.
Doesn’t give all the functionality of .txt, but allows files to be edited.
