I doubt the obsidian team would do that, but if you want the it at the bottom of the ribbon, try GitHub - Quorafind/Obsidian-Legacy-Vault-Switcher · GitHub. (You need to use BRAT or manually install).
If the exact position is important, you might be able to use css or a plugin like commander.
dmantisk shared a plugin. Using that and/or with some css should be able to move the settings icon into the ribbon.
