Placeholder for the Non-existing image file

What I’m trying to do

You know how we have placeholder links for non-existing files and they show up in different color in the graph view
We also have a different color indicating that a file is an attachment

I want the combination of these two basically. I dont want to stop creating my note, create the image/graph of the subject im working on then add it so i can continue.

I want to be able to write “![[name of my image, png]]” or something like that and see it in the graph view as a darker color of an attachment file

Things I have tried

As i described i tried writing “![[parallelogram law.png]]” and it showed up as non-existing file, not an attachment file.

I don’t use the Graph much, but can confirm that ![[place-holder.jpg]] (with no file in the vault) just shows as an unresolved link in a note and in the Graph.

Not exactly what you are looking for, but you could create a small (smaller than mine here) place holder image that’s actually in the vault. Type ![[image.jpg]] and continue on your merry way writing.

You’ll see all the connections to it in the Graph, and if you open the image file and have it focused, in the Backlinks tab you can see what notes you’ve written it in.

Something to try.
