Persistent Graph doesn't save and restore node position (Windows 10)

Hello,

New to this forum, I spent a bit of time digging into the topics for Persistent Graph issues. I don’t seem to find relevant topic to help me on my specific problem.
Here is my situation. I’ve recently installed Obsidian on windows 10 pro (22H2). I’ve then installed Persistent Graph plug-in to save and restore node positions as I see fit. It doesn’t work. Everytime I leave the graph view on my vault, positions are not saved as I want and back to positions I haven’t set.
I’ve tried couple of things:

  • Use ctrl+S before exiting
  • Use specific hotkeys (Plug-in options)
  • change the option in the plug-in (with or without)
  • Uninstalled core plug-in related to graph (which was a mistake as the only one related is the Graph view itself)
  • Restart Obsidian after plug in installation
  • Restart the laptop

None of that seems to work.

My question : Is there anybody facing the same problem on widows 10 ? And if yes is there a fix / workaround ?

Thanks

Not a huge graph user and never used Persistent Graph.
Is it only for Global Graph, I reckon? Is that what you are using? Because apparently, a Global Graph with settings can be bookmarked (core Bookmarks plugin).

/If you are into Local Graphs, the Graph Presets can save your graph, with options to save graph to a particular note as well (not useful for me, so I always try to avoid that)./

First, thanks for taking the time.
You’re correct, I’m talking about Global graph view, I’ve tried to use the bookmarks on global view, but the result still the same. I can’t make it stick to the positions I want. Worse, every time I close and re-open the global view, positions change.
I just want a solution to make the positions stick the way I’ve set them up. I must miss something, as this plug-in seems to do the trick for so many.

Hi, it’s not clear from your post if you tried the explicit commands from the command palette Save node positions and Restore node positions.

Hi there suchn a command palette ? The only I’ve used is the Ctrl+S

The command palette is incredibly useful as it enables you easy access to all Obsidian commands - see Command palette - Obsidian Help. Default shortcut is Ctrl-P.
