I’m new to Obsidian and want to import PDF files and have them automatically annotated with a date/timestamp (somewhere near the top/header of the pages

I looked at the PDF plugins here but they don’t seem to do what I want. Or I’m not understanding how to do it.
If i understood you correctly, Obsidian doesn’t write to pdf, just to plaintext markdown.
What you can do instead is to create a new note, add today’s date stamp (check for the right shortcut in Obsidians preferences) and then, add your pdf as a link.
