Panel for inserting markdown elements (like in Joplin)

Greetings to all forum users and developers!

I only recently started using Obsidian and noticed that the editor is not very convenient for beginners. I personally had to read through the Markdown manual in order to use it. Plus, I don’t like constantly toggling between “Preview” and “Edit” mode.

It would be wonderful if you add top panel with most useful elements (like in Joplin):

and toggle “Preview mode” on by default.

Thanks for the suggestion.
But I think this plugin doesn’t really suit my needs.
It has 3 disadvantages:

  1. It can be placed only on the sidebar.
  2. It doesn’t work in preview mode.
  3. Clicking on elements removes cursor from the text field.

A WYWSIWG editor is on the short-term roadmap (and Obsidian is still in beta).
