Outline – Selecting multiple headings and their content, and performing basic operations on them (copy, cut, delete, move)

Use case or problem / Proposed solution

I would like to be able to select multiple headings (and their content) in Outline (Core Plugin) and perform basic operations on the selected content – such as copying, cutting, deleting, and moving (drag and drop in the outline itself).

I’d like the selection feature to support selecting multiple items using the Ctrl key (selecting specific items) and the Shift key (selecting a range of items from - to).

When such manipulation of file content is appropriate for the task, it will significantly simplify and speed up these operations compared to performing them manually in the editor window itself, where you have to scroll through the entire document and perform operations on each fragment separately, whereas you could, for example, simply select the content of the desired headings with a couple of clicks and copy it.

In my case, this is especially relevant for large files.

Current workaround

I’m not aware of any workarounds – all the operations I mentioned have to be performed manually in the editor window itself, which is time-consuming and, in some cases, not very convenient.

Perhaps some community plugins offer this functionality, but the 5–6+ Outline plugins I’ve tried previously didn’t suit me for other reasons, so I prefer not to use them and instead put up with the inconveniences of the native Outline.

To facilitate mentioning of better alts in the meantime.

Could you elaborate on which plugins and the reasons?

Plugins sometimes get updated very frequently.

I support this request btw.

I don’t want to depend on community plugins (or not native options) for this kind of stuff.
