Use case or problem
If I have a PDF in my vault and I make a link to a selection (i.e. a particular quote for a scientific reference), I can click on the link in my note and it will take me to that spot on the pdf. Great. However, if I have the same pdf open in split view alongside my note, and I click the link, it will change the tab of the note to open the pdf and now I have two versions of the pdf simultaneously open in split view. This is annoying since I have to go back to my note manually and scroll back to where I was.
Proposed solution
I think that if you click on a link to some file, and you have the file open already in another view/screen, it should affect THAT screen/view and NOT the one that contained the link. For example, if I have my pdf open in a split view next to my notes, and I click on a link in my notes that go to page X on the pdf, it should scroll to the relevant page on the split view with the pdf, and leave the note screen unchanged. It should modify existing instances of the file instead of opening new ones on new tabs.

None that I could find.
