Corey, I don’t understand what you are saying. You seem to argue for Obsidian not being open source with other platforms being “slower and buggier” and then seeming to suggest Obsidian should be open source. It certainly isn’t Obsidian’s responsibility either to pave the way for other apps to catch up. I’m really pleased with how Obsidian works having moved from Evernote.
