I am new to this system, I’ve been working since October to create this workflow. I do a lot of workarounds I am sure and now the flow is broken and I don’t know where the break has happened.

Find article on web browser
Use browser Zotero Connector
Double Check information pane that {{citationKey}} was correct: last name of author_first word of title_year. In Better BibText this was zotero.clean.
Create PDF on web browser
Download PDF to Downloads File
Link PDF file in zotero
Use Attanger to link and move PDF to Obsidian.
I was unable to get this far before this morning but I believe Zotero 8 updated earlier issues.
Now that a PDF exists in Obsidian I create a Literature Note which is where I keep the annotations and my notes about the PDF and all other notes corresponding to this PDF. This is the last step and it is not working.
I use a PlugIn in Obsidian called Citations. I realize perhaps this is part of the break.
This may be the issue:
I read that post yesterday. There is a large warning sign that comes up before you change anything in the Config Editor - I was trepidatious. I appreciate this so much! I also see that Zotero and Better BibTex are making updates daily to fix the bugs so something that didn’t work yesterday works today ie being able to name a file {{citationKey}}.
I have one other question. I did not do the “REGENERATE THEM” steps. Is there a reason to regenerate my entire Zotero data base and deal with the repercussions in my Obsidian vault? Again, thank you so much.
If you successfully migrated your citationKey’s to internal Zotero fields, you don’t need to regenerate BBT citationKey’s: Zotero 8 took them on board
But if you open Zotero 7 on a different machine, the BBT plugin may want to recreate-them on startup, so better to install Zotero 8 everywhere and the latest BBT plugin.
