I’d like to ensure that Obsidian (native macOS installation) stops updating on its own.
Things I have tried
I have disabled Automatic Updates and I do not click Check for Updates. Nonetheless, Obsidian has updated itself to a version that I do not want and now have to find a way to roll back myself.
Why would this happen? I’m not using the App Store, so there should be no other source of update.
And here’s a screenshot of Obsidian on my Windows desktop. When I descided to stop automatic updates, I tried to match versions across my devices for consistency.
Similar set up. But earlier this week, I opened Obsidian on my laptop and was greeted with 1.6.5 release notes. I immediately checked my Settings and it was exactly as you see above.
Are there installation archives hosted on the site for older builds?
It’s always possible that I accidentally clicked Check for updates and don’t remember it, but that seems very unlikely for me. I rarely have a need to open Settings anymore.
Since your installer version is the same as the app version (1.6.5), it means you or some other software you use manually downloaded and reinstalled Obsidian.
Hmm, good spot. I’m not using the App Store, or any other auto-updater.
It’s possible that I ran a more recent installer than the v1.0.0 Windows installation, but that calls my recollection into question. Wasn’t any time recently though.
I haven’t emptied my file Trash since November and there’s nothing in there, my Downloads folder, or anywhere else that indicates a recent manual installation. I’m at a loss for leads at this point.
