I want it so players for our Dnd campaign are able to access my Obsidian Vault, view and edit entries while also restricting access to other sections of notes and whole notes or categories without having to download Obsidian, strictly through Discord.
Is that even possible?
I already have the vault set up on my google drive which I can access through Obsidian on my phone and laptop and any edits are automatically synced.
It’s not easily doable, no. Obsidian doesn’t have an API for changing the vault from outside of the app itself. Whether you could make Discord trigger some file changes, which could be picked up by Obsidian is another matter.
And if you know a little programming, it should also be possible to write a Discord bot which you read out stuff (and potentially write stuff) within your vault. But you’re not directly interacting with Obsidian, but rather change the files which Obsidian then would read when you open it later on.
