Type: Talk/Presentation Expected Duration (min): 60 mins (20 min presentation w/ 40 min Q&A) Presenter: @Lithou Technical Requirements: Will be held via Discord. If you want to follow along, the hands-on will require computer with Obsidian installed and VSCode or other editor of choice.
Longer Description: This will cover the basics of getting started with CSS in Obsidian including some of the basic concepts of how CSS works and interacts with Obsidian.
I don’t know who requested this one, but did you (or anyone else) have specifics in mind? Did you want specific examples covered? More of a Q&A type workshop? I’m down for whatever is most helpful to others.
Technical Requirements: This talk will use pandoc to convert between the two formats. I am going to do a talk on that first so that this knowledge doesn’t have to be covered twice.
Description
I will show how you can use the reveal.js framework to make slideshows out of markdown. Reveal can be used to make auto-animated, interactive, custom-themed slideshow presentations. The final result is an HTML output that can simply be sent to anyone to open in their browser. You can see the power of Reveal here: https://revealjs.com
Type: Collaborative hackathon Hands-On / Workshop / Discussion Expected Duration (min): 60 - 90 Presenter: @tallguyjenks Technical Requirements: Yes, Obsidian, a method of emoji insertion (Alfred on mac, or default mac utility, win+. on windows, some solution on linux)
Longer Description by presenter:
Aim for a discussion around how to use things like symbols, temporal components, emoji’s, tags, links and more with intention to lay foundational architecture for a knowledge base to grow and scale without hindering search, rediscovery, and organization. And some ways we can bend markdown to service these needs.
We’ll be discussing how to accommodate typical founder workflows in Obsidian including CRM stuff, fundraising tracking, etc. I will showcase my workflow that I’ve developed over the past year. Others can share their strategies as well.
Type: Talk / Presentation Expected Duration (min): 15-25 mins talk, then 30-40 mins discussion Presenter: @Jamesb#7557 Moderator: None Technical Requirements: None Longer Description by presenter:
Discussing spaced repetition: what it is, why it’s useful, and most importantly how it can be used in creative domains (math, science, writing, startups, academia…). Intended audience: everyone! I’ll do a short presentation to introduce spaced repetition and some interesting topics like how it relates to Zettlekasten. Then we can do a group discussion so anyone can ask questions / discuss / debate anything related to spaced repetition.
In this talk, we’ll show how we can use Obsidian, the Git plugin, GitLab CI/CD and GitLab Pages to create a continuously deploying documentation site. Leveraging simple primitives, we’ll also demonstrate how it will be possible to make sites that are visually appealing and constantly up-to-date
