This can be closed. It’s indeed a duplicate of the “file too large to be synced (silently)” Log when files won't sync due to size limits issue.
I missed that the plugin wasn’t sync’ed, because I mistakenly only compared the vault itself (after all, the plugin did show up in the list of community plugins, so I assumed it had been sync’ed).
