Use case or problem The dataview plugin is very powerful and practical, so every obsidian note of mine contains dataview code content, but unfortunately, the current publishing function does not support dataview, and can only display a bunch of useless source code. I also would very much like support of dataview within obsidian publish, as that plugin is almost a core feature of what makes obsidian powerful, and workflows like Zettelkasten manageable through maps of content (which is where I list all the files from a given topic).

However, since I have many files, it is tedious to follow these steps to replace each dataview query.

While Obsidian is a useful app, it’s only really as useful as it is for me because of the community plugins. Publish loses all utility for me if I cannot get it to render the same way that I have the notes rendering, and many of the workarounds (up to and including writing your own javascript, hosting it on your own custom domain, and using publish.js to get additional code) seem to be hyper specific to particular plugins OR are obtuse and complicated enough that I do not feel like it is worth paying for publish to try and spend this much time fighting against something that feels should be much simpler from a consumer’s perspective.
