Obsidian provides context menu when multiple files are selected

Steps to reproduce

  1. Go to the file explorer panel
  2. Select/highlight multiple files
  3. Right click

Expected result
Since multiple-file operations are currently impossible in Obsidian, a menu should not appear or the selection should change to just the file beneath the right-click.

Actual result
Menu appears with all files still selected, tricking the user into thinking they will be able to apply an operation (such as Delete, Make Copy of, or Move) on all selected files at once when such is not the case.

Environment

  • Obsidian version: 0.14.6
  • OS: macOS 10.14.6

Additional info
It’s rather surprising that basic multiple-file operations via menu aren’t possible in such an otherwise incredibly feature-rich piece of software. Until that deficit is addressed, the misleading context menu should be disabled when multiple files are selected.

Alternatively, the ability to perform multiple-file operations should be added to Obsidian, finally addressing this year-old feature request.

let’s stick with the year old FR. No need to open another issue.

I see no indication that the FR is being worked or even considered; therefore, to prevent user error, this bug should be addressed and resolved until such time as the open request is acknowledged and implemented.
