Obsidian not opening (Network problem?)

Trying to get obsidian to work again

Hi everybody, i recently started using Obsidian and last week i tried to open it and i got this error message
''The drive or network connection that the Obsidian.Ink shortcut points to is unavailable. Make sure the drive is inserted or the network connection is available, and then try again."
The message is translated so it might mean something diffrent. Also the Obsidian logo is not a logo anymore but the default document logo thinghy from windows

this happened the same week is removed a lot of files from my laptop and also started using my ethernet cable instead of wifi, so my guess is that thats the problem but how do i solve it?

how do change where the obsidian.ink shortcut points to if thats the problem. And my ‘‘drive’’ is untouched.

Please help me solve this problem, i really like obsidian and gives me peace of mind, im not into computer tech and stuff and my english isnt that good so apologies if i sound off.

I think the most likely thing is that you deleted the Obsidian installation files. If you just did a standard installation in the past, then you should just be able to download and reinstall. It will put Obsidian back in the same place it was, and the shortcut should start working again.

I doubt this has anything to do with your ethernet cable. The error for the missing shortcut is just saying that it can’t find it.

But you said you deleted a bunch of files. You can right-click on the shortcut icon, and it should show you the path it’s trying to look for Obsidian. Then you can try to go there and see if the files exist anymore.

hey bro, it took a while but i finally got it to work man.
Thank you, i really appreciate it because i really didnt want to change to a diffrent program or lose my notes.
