It’s more a minor nuisance, but I wanna see if anyone has any idea about this behavior. Whenever I launch obsidian, the window, no matter what vault, opens in the top half of my display, instead of fullscreen. I always close the window when it’s fullscreen. Just wanted to know if this is on obsidian, or the window manager.
Running linux mint 22.3, cinnamon. Running the appimage install. I’ve tried googling solutions but the only result seem to be more serious problems like crashes and such, or suggestions for “true fullscreen” modes. Nothing related to my question.
You mean you want obsidian to open maximised?
My intuition would say that it would be done by your window manager or Linux, because on windows that’s the case.
From what I could quickly find, try adding --start-maximized?

Gave it a try, no dice. Unchanged behavior, still starting on the top half of the display.
This seems to be the opposite, his window keeps opening maximised but he doesn’t want it to work that way.

Will give it a try. I don’t think switching to wayland is a viable option for me right now as mint doesn’t directly support it yet (heard they will from 23 onwards), so I’ll try the other method and report back.
can’t edit my old post, but seems like getting the old 1.8 installer has indeed fixed the problem. Thanks very much!
