Obsidian iOS: Constant “Smart environment loading deferred on mobile”

What I’m trying to do

Using the Obsidian App on iPhone :slight_smile:

Problem Description

I am experiencing constant editor reloads in Obsidian on iOS.
While writing, I frequently get the message:

“Smart environment loading deferred on mobile”

Immediately after that:

  • the note reloads

  • a short loading bar appears

  • cursor position and scroll position are lost

  • it feels like a soft workspace or editor reset

This severely interrupts writing and breaks my workflow.

The issue happens even in newly created notes with:

  • plain text only

  • no links

  • no embeds

  • no Dataview blocks

  1. Dataview is NOT installed
  2. Templater is NOT installed
  3. No custom JS or advanced plugins involved

Things I have tried

Closed all tabs
Fully restarted the iPhone
Restarted Obsidian multiple times
Avoided dashboards or complex notes
Tested with a single, simple note only

I’ve tried quite a few things with the help of ChatGPT, but without success. Unfortunately, it wasn’t really able to resolve the issue either. Maybe someone here has a solution?

begin here Troubleshooting Guide

Sorry, I hadn’t seen the troubleshooting guide and now it took me a while to get to the bottom of the issue. Thanks anyway. I think the problem has already been solved.

If anyone else is reading this: It’s probably one of the two community plugins:

- Tag Wrangler

- Smart Connections

Both plugins are active on my MacBook. I’ve disabled them on my iPhone, as I don’t use them there.

Everything is working fine for now.
