Obsidian forward slash command only working on new notes

What I’m trying to do

I’m simply trying to use the core plugin slash command. It works perfectly on new notes but nothing appears when I type / in existing notes. Super weird! Just started happening today.

Things I have tried

I’ve searched the web and this forum but can’t find anything! I tried shutting down and restarting Obsidian as well as toggling off and on the core plugin.
