I’m working as a part-time contractor for two customers, and I like it when computers can automate administrative tasks for me. All the time spent on setting up and maintaining my tools is time I can’t bill, so I’d rather have a simple system than a complex one I need to debug every other morning.
With Obsidian and two plugins, I can focus on taking notes and action items. The app generates weekly reports with billable hours, and a dashboard with all the topics in flight. I detailed all my workflow in the following blog post.
No complex software deployment, no SaaS, no infra. Simple & sturdy, as most things should be!
