Obsidian doesnt work after latest update on windows 7

Steps to reproduce

Opening the damn thing;

Double clicking the obsidian app gives the following message:

“Unable to find the entry point of the DiscardVirtualMemory procedure in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll”

I use windows 7

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide?

N
Cannot use the sandbox vault because the app doesnt even open

Expected result

The app working

Actual result

Obsidian not working

Environment

Cant do it because obsidian doesnt open

Additional information

No matter what version of obsidian i install the error persists, i used to use an old version of obsidian(i believe 3.5), when i downloaded the latest installer version(as of 25/09) i have become unable to open obsidian, no matter if i desinstall and reinstall a newer version

trying to use the old versions doesnt work, unless theres a way to completely erase obsidian from my computer

Uninstall it and then install the old version. If it works good, if it doesn’t we are sorry but we dropped supporting win 7 a while ago already.

I don’t know. But yes, maybe you will have to clear some of the app settings from %APPDATA%\Obsidian\ and disable any auto updating, before you reinstall the older version.
