Obsidian browser no longer opening iCloud Pages document

Steps to reproduce

I open the Obsidian browser and log-in to my iCloud account. There I open Pages. I see the list of my documents inside Pages, however, when I try to open any of the files, it does nothing.

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]

Yes

Expected result

In the past, albeit I cannot pinpoint what version, this was not an issue. The document in Pages would open flawlessly and without any problem as it would in any other browser.

Actual result

As mentioned above, it does nothing when trying to open a document.

does it still not work? Which page exactly are you trying to access?

Negative, it still does not work.

I log into my iCloud account and head over the Pages. There it gives me a list of my documents, but whenever I click any of them, it does nothing. But when I do the same thing in another browser (Safari) it opens there.

Thanks for your patience and willingness to help!

Asking a clarifying question. So you:

  • Have Obsidian Web View open in a tab or window in Obsidian. (which, tab or window?)
  • You navigate to iCloud.com within the Web View
  • You then click on a link to open a file.
  • Nothing happens, correct? No downloads, etc?

Does anything show up in the console log when trying to click the link? To access the developer console for errors, within Obsidian, press this keybinding: CMD + OPTION + i. Select the “console” tab, then try the steps again.

Your step by step descriptions are correct. To be more precise, I have the Pages (weblink) saved in my shortcuts. This is where I access it so as to not log in each time, but it’s the same. When I click on a document to open, nothing happens. It fires blank. I tried clicking on the “three dots” to each file and opting to choose “open” but that doesn’t work either.

As for the console log, I am unsure what I’m looking for. However, I did what you’ve directed and I do not see any changes or errors worth noting.

I have found a roundabout way solution – When I open the document in Safari, I can copy the link and paste that into Obsidian Web. This then opens the document! While this is not ideal, at least it does work
