Although there’s some overlap in my interests/field, I’m not an engineer, but maybe an outsider’s view could be helpful.

From what I’ve observed, AlphaTerminal’s content on Reddit might be of interest. He’s an engineer in cybersecurity and many engineers have found his insights valuable.

This is an index note from Andy Matuschak with note-making principles, useful note-titles as imperatives, strategies for both theory-building and action. AlphaTerminal and others find it useful.

Also, Excalidraw, on the desktop and Obsidian Mobile apps, works quite well in my experience. It’s not as robust as standalone sketching apps like Good Notes, etc., But if writing by hand within one app is preferred, it’s worth a shot. For instance, the inter-referencing, not just cross-references, between handwritten and markdown notes is quite powerful. Typed note-titles in Excalidraw next to the handwritten text, diagrams, etc. and stay in sync with their markdown counterparts if you change them.
