Noticeable drop in performance of editor when search explorer displays over 1,000 items

  • click on a search result on side panel - very laggy editor
  • click on right panel to find unlinked notes
    • very laggy if right panel left open
    • good performance if closed

  • open “search in files” panel -> search for the word “gloves”

    • 4’.30’’ to get the search result

  • open search -> search for the word “gloves” - CLOSE “search in files” panel

    • about 30’’ to get the search result

Going to combine these two; they are both caused by having Search in files open so it’s likely the same issue.

@Licat: I guess Search in files is not using the same optimization File explorer is using?

I mentioned this to @licat, he confirmed he has to do the same optimizations he did for the file explorer.
