Notes disappear when adding images and text

Hello,

I’m experiencing a critical issue with Obsidian. Whenever I copy and paste an image along with text into a new note, the note immediately disappears and gets automatically deleted. It’s impossible to recover the note afterward.

Here are the details of my setup:

  • Obsidian version: 1.7.7 (latest version).
  • Operating system: Windows 11.
  • Vault location: Stored locally on my primary drive, not in a synced folder (e.g., OneDrive or Google Drive).
  • Number of notes: My vault contains only 25 notes, mostly Markdown files.
  • Plugins enabled: None.
  • Sync: Disabled.

What I’ve tried so far:

  1. Completely uninstalled Obsidian.
  2. Deleted the configuration files in the AppData folder.
  3. Reinstalled Obsidian and created a new vault.
  4. Copied my existing notes into the new vault.

Unfortunately, despite these steps, the issue persists. Every time I paste an image and text into a new note, it disappears immediately.

  • Has anyone else encountered this issue or has any idea about its cause?
  • Are there specific limits or restrictions on the type of content (e.g., images) that can be added to Obsidian?
  • Is there a way to access logs or a diagnostic mode in Obsidian to analyze this behavior?

Can you post a screen recording of this happening?

Does it happen in the sandbox vault?

At 0:43 when i paste an other picture the note dissapear

Nothing happen in the sandbox vault

Is it possible that you are triggering the antivirus and the file is quarantined?

Does it happen with any text and images or just that?
