Will do. I understand you may have just mentioned it as an example. But just wanted to make sure-- I don’t use Google Drive. :wink:

Will test a few things today and let you know how it goes.

Update: Today, like yesterday, I can get a few more words in problem free, but still deletes text.

Disabling Text Expander Community plugin solved this problem for me.

Also, this was more frequent when I had a Preview Panel also open.

I turned off Typora which is also set to look at the same folders as Obsidian. I suspected this could be the problem because , each time the random deletion happened, there was a brief error message involving a external editor.

@mabdallay I have this issue frequently on my Windows machine with a vault stored in iCloud. I thought it was iCloud acting weird on Windows. Your post makes me wonder if it is something else altogether that’s causing the issue?

Question: When this happens, does it then create multiple versions of the same file?
