Connect my Bluetooth keyboard and use the arrow keys to navigate the file tree in the left panel
Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]
Yes I did.
Expected result
Visual feedback.
Actual result
There’s no highlight indicating which folder or file is selected in the left panel when navigating with the arrow keys. Sometimes there is a highlight but its arbitrary and doesn’t change when the selection does. Otherwise everything technically works (up & down to move, left & right to move in & out) but its really difficult to use with the selection invisible especially when there’s a lot of files.
Environment
I’m using GrapheneOS, but this probably shouldn’t be an issue.
This might point at a more major issue in terms of accessibility for people using keyboard based controls.
I was using a Google Pixel 9a, OS built from Android version 16.
Also, I had my theme set to default and no CSS snippets. I also enabled lockdown mode (or whatever its called) to disable all plugins. No customisation was active as far as I could tell.
At the moment I have the mechanical Bluetooth keyboard I used for testing totally disassembled for modding, and I don’t have another compatible keyboard with arrow keys on hand. When its put back together I’ll try to reproduce on my old Android device and report back.
Sorry for the long wait, was working on my mechanical keyboard for way longer than I expected.
The issue is the exact same as on my GrapheneOS device. Nothing new to report and don’t know what else to try.
Here’s the debug for my older vanilla Android device:
