Newb set vault key with spaces- now can't get in

I just created my Obsidian account. Like the newb I am, I thought the vault key could be a passphrase, so it has spaces. The app thought it was hunky dory. I enabled sync and tried to unlock the vault from my laptop app. It does not like the key even though it is entered exactly the same. There’s nothing in the vault, I don’t mind starting over from scratch, but I aleady bought a year of sync/cloud so I don’t want to create a new account.

What is my next step?

Other languages place symbols, punctuation and even letters in different places on the keyboard, so you basically type in other letters.

If you’re multilingual like me, check if your keyboard language is the same on both phone and laptop.
