Hi everyone! ![]()
I’m excited to share a new plugin I’ve been working on for both Windows and macOS: Natural Move/Export.
If you’ve ever been frustrated by the friction of getting files out of Obsidian and into your operating system, or if you need to regularly export your notes to professional formats like Word or PowerPoint, this plugin is for you. It bridges the gap between your vault and the rest of your OS (Operating System).
What does it do?
1. Native OS Integration (Drag & Drop / Copy & Paste)
No more “Reveal in File Explorer” just to move a file. You can now directly drag and drop files from your Obsidian file tree to your desktop, folders, or other applications. You can also use native system copy & paste! Fully supported on both Windows and macOS.
2. Professional Pandoc Exports
Export your markdown notes directly to .docx and .tex, as well as .pptx (experimental) with a single click. It handles image conversions, embeds, and sizing automatically.

Coming Soon
- Apple Calendar Integration: Drag and drop your Obsidian notes directly into Apple Calendar to instantly create events!
Free vs. Pro
The core features (Drag & Drop, Copy/Paste, standard Pandoc exports) are completely free and open source.
For power users, I offer a Pro version that unlocks:
- Full Folder Support: Move or copy entire folder structures with one command.
- Custom Templates: Use your own corporate/academic
.docxand.textemplates, as well as.pptxtemplates (experimental). - Advanced Pandoc Arguments: Total control over the export engine (e.g.,
--toc,--bibliography). - Audio Feedback: Subtle confirmation sounds for successful operations.
How to install (via BRAT)
The plugin is currently pending approval for the official community directory. In the meantime, you can easily install it using BRAT:
- Install the BRAT plugin from the Community Plugins:
https://github.com/TfTHacker/obsidian42-brat - Go to BRAT settings → Add Beta plugin.
- Paste the repository link:
