[New Plugin] Dragger: Notion-style drag-and-drop for all blocks

Hi everyone!

I’m excited to share a plugin I’ve been working on: Dragger.

As much as I love Obsidian, I’ve always missed the fluid, block-based movement of Notion. While the existing Outliner plugin is great, I wanted something more powerful that supports dragging and dropping all types of text blocks, not just list items.

:sparkles: Key Features

  • Notion-style Drag & Drop: Move any paragraph, heading, or block with ease.

  • Beyond Outliner: Fully compatible with standard text, not limited to bullet points.

  • Intuitive UI: Designed to make rearranging your thoughts as fast as you think.

:construction: Current Status

The plugin is currently under active development. I’m working hard to refine the interaction and ensure it’s stable for daily use.

:inbox_tray: Installation

Since the plugin is still in its early stages and hasn’t been submitted to the official Obsidian community store yet, you can install and test it via BRAT:

  1. Install the BRAT plugin from the community store.

  2. Go to Options > BRAT > Plugins > Add Beta plugin.

  3. Copy and paste the repository URL: https://github.com/Ariestar/obsidian-dragger

I’d love to hear your thoughts! What features from Notion’s drag-and-drop system do you miss the most in Obsidian? Feel free to leave a star or open an issue if you have suggestions.

Happy note-taking!

Really Well Made in looks and feel. I wish you could add side by side Text / the real Block behaviour of notion / anytype.

It’s really cool idea. Please continue to improve and develop this plugin

I’ve discovered a very serious bug in your plugin. If a note is very long, scrolling causes significant freezes.

Additionally, when working with bullet points, incorrect indentation occurs during line breaks (in sub-points)

Has this been added to the community plugins yet? In the readme it says you can search for it, but I cant find it yet. Thanks

It hasn’t. Waiting for the loooong plugin review.

Check the new version. I’ve improved the performance a lot.

Good idea. But I seems to be a tough problem. I’ll try my best. (with my codex🤣)

Hi, thank you for your update! But, in terms of performance and freezes, the situation hasn’t really changed. Maybe it’s because I work with fairly long text notes
