Need to get rid of a block of text in many files

Hi All,

I’ve been using Obisidan for a few months now, learning it has been a real pleasure. I now realise I’ve made a stupid mistake: At the top of my daily note (via a template), I was including a list of “useful links”, like this:

Important links

Classes Perso PP
[[4BC]] :four::b: [[Discover]] :earth_africa: [[Tom]]
[[5CC]] :five::clamp: [[Web]] :closed_lock_with_key: [[John]]
[[5CG]] :five::seal: [[Marc]]
[[5MC7]] :five::infinity: [[Luke]]

I’ve come to realise that this heavily pollutes my backlinks in each of those files. They are marked as having been referenced dozens of time, making my browing in Obsidian much less handy.

Is there a way to parse all my “MD” files to replace that block of useful links with nothing?

I realise that might be a question more related to UNIX or another text tool, but I wanted to try this here in case you have other ideas.

Many thanks

The power of Obsidian is indeed that it stored your info in text files, that can easily be manipulated by external tools. There is no build-in global search/replace, although there is an extension. Then there are editors like VSCode that allow to do mass-edit multiple files, and finally, somewhat more difficult but very powerfull, there are the unix text manipulation tools.

Thanks a lot for your help! I indeed thought about the open format, but I wanted to make sure. I didn’t know about VSCode, will investigate.

Thanks again.
