Move settings back to ribbon, or at least away from the file explorer

What I’m trying to do

I want to revert or modify the recent 1.6 change to make the settings and vault management menus go on the bottom of the left-side side-bar.
I think its a positive change, but I dont like it personally lol.

I just want the settings out of the sidebar, whether that is back to the ribbon, gone, hidden, to the left side-bar, or etc.

I really dont know where to start with this issue. I poked around reddit and the forums, but did not notice any solutions. I also do not see anything in the settings myself, though I could have missed something.
Maybe I could ue css? Though I have made many snippets and my own theme, nothing quite like this.

Does anyone have any ideas of how this could be done? Or maybe solved it already?

Thanks in advance

I created a plugin that pairs well with “Legacy Vault Switcher” to display the vault name similar to pre-1.6.0 versions of Obsidian.

This works, thank you so much for sharing

Your plugin works too, though I dont need it, the other person I was talking to about this issue was apparently desperate for this exact fix lmao. Thank you so much from them :stuck_out_tongue:

See Hider 1.4.0. On mac you can use the menu bar to access settings (Obsidian –> Settings).
