Move file captured with markdown download extension hangs Obsidian

We strongly recommend you to search the forum with possible keywords before submitting a new bug report. Please also try your repro steps with third-party plugins and custom CSS disabled and see if it’s still reproducible. If it’s an issue with third-party plugins or themes, try contacting the author for help. Once you’ve done the above, delete this line.

Steps to reproduce

I am using the insider build 13.26

I used the Markdown Download extenstion to download a web page. I store in a folder called “tofile”. I have the extension set to save attachments in the same folder in a subfolder called attachments. In obsidian in files&links I have the setting to save in a subfolder under the current folder with the name attachments.

After downloading I can go to the folder tofile and open the page I downloaded, “content.md” and all is fine and I can see the image. I next select the content.md and move the file to another folder called “tests”. When I then go to the tests folder and open content.ms Obsidian seems to hang and I have to kill it with the Windows task manager.

Expected result

I would expect the file to be moved, but ALSO that the image in the attachments directory would be moved to the attachments directory of tests. And since I didn’t have an attachments directory would have expected it to be created.

Actual result

Hung Obsidian. Had to use task manager to kill

Additional information

Regarding Obsidian Hanging. Post a screen recording of this happening in the help vault (or no theme no plugins).

We don’t support this.

are you considering supporting this. it would seem consistent with the fixing of links you do. also this helps save having all attachments in a single directory which can lead to problems with too many files in a directory.

No, we will not be moving attachments along with markdown. I believe there maybe a plugin for that.

I just updated to .28. If I go to a folder and create a note and rename it then in the file explorer right click to delete I get the hang. if I kill obsidian the file is deleted. Restart and all is fine.
