Mobile version and storage sync

Things I have tried

Hello,
in syncing with Dropbox a local folder on Android mobile. Will the files be transferred to the mobile from desktop, with the risk of taking a good part of the phone storage? I have images and docs from the Obsidian desktop App (about 2.5 giga) and I fear that they are going to use my storage on the phone. Any way to make the sync " happening" only when one opens the file? A sort of smartsync as with Dropbox?

That will probably interfere with the way obsidian works (e.g. it needs to have access to all your notes/attachments to be able to update links). You can read more about which sync services are supported here: Android app
