I hope we can config the “Swiping behavior” - left/right, upper screen/lower screen.
Annnd… providing an “Do nothing” option to disable the swiping, that would increase the editing behavior a lot.

Since this request would make it hard to open the right sidebar — because there’s no right sidebar button on phones (tho you can long-press the note menu) — this FR would pair well with it: Right Sidebar Button on Phone.
I still to this day instinctively swipe with one finger to navigate back sometimes.
Maybe double finger swipe to the left or right?
Since left and right swipe are for the side panels.
In general, phone screens are pretty small so I myself am pretty happy with the default back/forward history buttons at the bottom left.
Two-finger swipe already does navigation.
Oops.. nice finding, works for me too.
Made a script that does this.
Obsdian mobile: swap between two finger horizontal swipe actions and one finger horizontal actions - Share & showcase - Obsidian Forum
There’s a mobile refresh in beta right now. It’s mostly awesome, but it doesn’t yet address this. In iOS, We’re always trained to swipe from the screen edge, not anywhere on the screen
I would expect that tapping notes within links would do a push navigation forward, and swiping back would perform back navigation, like how it works in the (new) obsidian settings.
Wikipedia behaves this way, however Apple notes does not (for their note links), so an option may be the best choice here. I frequently accidentally open the left sidebar when I want to navigate back, after tapping an internal link. With my workflow, I rarely use the left sidebar, but I would expect to be able to access that through the top left button still.
Navigation is the #1 thing for making an app feel native on a platform, and this tweak would fit in nicely with a very nice refresh.
I think both Apple and Obsidian have it wrong here, but Wikipedia gets it right.
I also think Wikipedia is the right reference here. Apple Notes doesn’t really do internal linking all that well, and uses regular forward and back swipe navigation for everywhere except their internal note links

I find myself wanting to navigate forward and backward (swipe left and right with two fingers) much more than opening the control panels with the single finger left and right swipes. The two finger swipes are a bit cumbersome, so it would be great with an option to toggle the swipe behavior so that single finger swipes could be used to navigate forward and backward, and double finger swipes to open the control panels.
