Missing "Book" and "Three Dots" Icons in the Top Right of Notes

Hello,
I’m encountering an issue in Obsidian where the “Book” and “Three Dots” icons (normally in the top right of each note, allowing me to switch between view modes and access note settings) have disappeared.

This issue may have started after I accidentally pressed a hotkey, and now these icons are missing in all notes. I’ve tried the following troubleshooting steps, but none have resolved the issue:

  1. Disabled all third-party plugins — the issue persists.
  2. Switched to the default “Obsidian” theme — didn’t help.
  3. Disabled all CSS snippets — icons still missing.
  4. Toggled Full-Screen Focus Mode and Centered Layout using hotkeys (F11, Ctrl + Shift + W, Ctrl + Shift + F) — no change.
  5. Created a new note — the issue remains in new notes as well.
  6. Restarted Obsidian and checked for updates — I am on the latest version, but the problem persists.

Has anyone else experienced this issue, or does anyone know how to restore the “Book” and “Three Dots” icons in the top right of notes? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

That area across the top, including the forward/back arrows, is called the “tab title bar”. Check in Settings > Appearance > Interface that it’s enabled.

Thank you so much! I thought I’d looked everywhere in the settings; I don’t know how I missed that option )
