Migrating from iCloud to obsidian sync... read the '21 post but

I wanted to migrate away from iCloud as the system was offloading my files making sync problematic…

So read the '21 post on Migrating from iCloud to Obsidian sync on the forum and tried to follow the steps

after a few attempts, I managed to get it finally to sync but on first sync with my new vault, I now have a massive amount of duplicate markdown files the same size and content but with a nubmer after the title…

Any ideas as to how I might resolve this simply without having to work through all the sub folders one by one…

Update:

I downloaded Gemini app from Setapp to see if it identified the duplicate files in my vault which it did to a tee! now down to single files again as if by magic!
