Took some time to make a plugin specifically for this. Ran into the same issue. There is, maybe, a public plugin soon as I’ve just submitted the plugin to be added as a community plugin.

Please update Mermaid version as well. v11.12.0 solves a bug I encounter (Sequence Diagram does not support JSON configuration · Issue #6935 · mermaid-js/mermaid · GitHub). It’s seem mermaid.live uses an even newer version.

I do think that any improvement made to the rendering of Mermaid diagrams is more than welcome for visual learners and thinkers
