Use case or problem
I have like 20 community plugins installed and it adds about 5 seconds to the startup time. I don’t have any complaints about the extra time, but the thing is if you have 20 plugins installed and it says the startup time is 8 seconds, it’s actually more like 12 seconds, because after you enter Obsidian you can’t click on anything—nothing works (at least in my experience).
Proposed solution
Make Obsidian load everything properly before entering the app. What’s the point of entering if you can’t do anything? It also makes opening the app less pleasant, because first you experience lag right after entering.
And in another request, I suggested adding a loading bar. It was denied because it added more startup time and was removed for performance reasons. But honestly, even if a loading bar adds an extra second, it would still feel faster—because at least I can see what’s being loaded, instead of just staring at a logo.
