Having spent time with both Roam and Obsidian I can tell you that I’m truly torn on this. There are some great features in Roam but I honestly don’t understand if they have a security model.

It’s hard for me to believe Obsidian is getting by with such a small development team but they just keep killing it with releases.

Having spent time with both Roam and Obsidian I can tell you that I’m truly torn on this.

They’re not the same though some use cases overlap. For some people, Obsidian is the only viable choice if it works. For others, it is Roam.
And sadly for some, they will be perennially conflicted.
