Lost about a day of notes - no autosave?

Mac got into a bad way. Apps stopped responding. Obsidian was on I had to Force Quit, and then eventually had to hard-shutdown the Mac. Fired it up today to learn that Obsidian lost about four days of notes. Went into time machine and found that my daily journal file has not been changed since August 16. That is, time machine doesn’t think this file changed at all during my edits yesterday.

I thought Obsidian autosaved?

Obsidian does autosave every few seconds, but if there was an issue with your OS/file system, this might not have happened properly.
