Local Directory links are not detected on PDF viewer

Steps to reproduce

Create a link to your file directory and then export the file as PDF

The PDF viewer will not recognize it as a link for some reason.

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]

Y

Expected result

When I click the link, I should be navigated to my local directory

Actual result

It doesn’t even detect the link.

Additional information

On other PDF viewer applications the link to the local file directory works just fine.

I should also mention that obsidians pdf viewer detects markdown links as well as html links just fine as well.

Its just the local directory links that arent being detected.

how do you do that?

I use an external tool called “PDFGear”, it allows me to create & edit links.

It works just fine on the application, and on html. But obsidian for some reason cant detect that its a link… which is strange because it detects html links just fine…

Ive also tried inserting it in the “url” box, still doesnt work…
