After about six months of using Obsidian, I’ve decided to rebuild my vault from scratch. Obsidian is an amazing tool, but if we’re not careful, it’s easy to fall into the trap of “false productivity.” What I mean is, sure, you might end up with a beautifully customized vault, but how many hours—or days—did you spend tweaking settings, playing with CSS, and experimenting with snippets?
In these six months, I’d probably be shocked if I calculated how much time I spent doing just that. So, I’ve decided to change things up and start over with a minimalist approach. I’m currently using Kepano’s Minimal Theme with only a handful of plugins. I’ll still be using Zettelkasten and the PARA method, but I’ll avoid diving into CSS, snippets, or excessive customization.
This new setup was built without a single CSS snippet, and I’m determined to keep it that way (for now, at least!). That said, I’d still love your suggestions for how I could create a simple yet functional homepage.
Above is my previous vault, haha, was overloaded with plugins, CSS snippets, and all sorts of customizations—it felt heavy in every way!
Thanks for reading, and here’s to a productive year ahead!
Cheers from Brazil!
