It’s very easy when typing to have an extra space show up between words. I’m requesting that a keyboard keystroke combo be added to automatically remove those extraneous extra spaces.
Proposed solution
Programs like Scrivener use Ctrl-Spacebar to remove those extraneous spaces between words in the current document. Adding something like that would streamline text entry.
Current workaround (optional)
Right now, one has to either do a full text search for double spaces or a manual visual search, clicking in to that space, and delete.
pasting from various sources often leaves redundant spaces, even with ctrl+shift+v/cmd+opt+v. The cause can range from additional elements that turn into spaces to a source author who likes to use double spaces after periods. Or someone who values typing quickly more than getting the correct number of spaces on the first go. Or quick editing where it’s more convenient to approximately highlight when deleting/moving and then clean up later.
