I ask because the plugin is disabled and Workspace takes up most of the start-up time. I’ll investigate further once I know they are two different things.
The time taken by “Workspace” should refer to the time spent reading the last saved workspace and then restoring the entire interface (last opened tabs, etc.)
The time it takes for the core workspace plugin to start should be categorized under “Core Plugins”.

I got confused when my database opened with exactly 1 file open, while the start-up time breakdown showed that Workspace was opening “15 tabs, 13 deferred”.
I see now that it isn’t necessarily “file tabs” being counted; it is counting all of the Icons above a space as being a tab, like the “search” and “tags” and “properties” icons above the left navigation section, as well as “backlinks”, “outliner”, “calendar” etc icons in the right section.
