Invite only publish

I want to create an Obsidian website that you can only see when you have an invite. Either something like an e-mail or an Obsidian account. Visitors should not be able to edit.

My original idea was to do collaborators but I don’t want everyone able to edit things. So unless I have multiple roles and permissions it won’t work. Can you? Also how many collaborators can you add?

A website password was another idea but once that is leaked I have to change it. Ideally I should be able to remove someone’s permissions so they can’t look at the site anymore.

So yea, anyone know if this is possible? To have the website private and only people with some sort of permission can visit?

I recently joined this forum. This is how I approach this from my desktop with a structured workflow … a pipeline. Targeting recipients with documents. View Obsidian as your local vault then push documents to either Proton Drive or Tresorit (both Swiss based) and post selective invitations to recipients to view your documents. There is a cost attached but this is pairing Obsidian with a zerotrust framework. I’m not into Obsidian too deeply at this point and need to understand how an “Obsidian website” is configured. I am right now weighing up pros and cons myself for selective publishing. Hence my experiments with both.
