Instant Split View mode open option e.g. Shift-Click

Use case or problem

I often like to open a content within a canvas, or note such as PDF file, other note link etc in the Split View mode. Currently, I do not see any simple way to open them in Split View mode. For instance, PDF file on Canvas does not even list open in Split View on right click menu.

Proposed solution

Similar to other apps, holding shift (or some other key) and click to open in right Split View pane would be the idea.

Current workaround (optional)

None. I manually open each in the Split View mode.

There’s a shortcut called “split right”.
You could try to make a QuickAdd macro.

On macOS, OptionCommand + Click will open the file to the right.
On Window/Linux, you can press AltControl + Click.

Thank you both! Option Cmd click did the trick for me! I should have put in as a help rather than feature requests.

FYI, one exception I noticed is Youtube video file on the canvas? It seems like they still open as a tab.
