INDENTS/ whitespace DON'T APPEAR IN READING MODE

What I’m trying to do

Hi,
I use Obsidian for note taking.
Problem: Indents or white space don’t appear in reading mode.
For Instance-
ABC 1
(space)DEF 2
APPEARS AS
ABC 1
DEF 2
Is this a bug or am I supposed to type a code/ command for this?

it’s a markdown spec. obsidian adopt largly GFM. see here for the leading space issue related to yours
